Weinberger: military cuts mean many will lose jobs

Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger warned that a $40 billion reduction in the proposed Pentagon budget could force cutbacks in weapon acquisitions leading to the loss of 350,000 jobs.

Mr. Weinberger also confirmed that the Soviet Union has developed a new strategic bomber that ''is in the final testing stage.'' He did not give further details.
