British Labour Party offers alternative recovery plan

Britain's opposition Labour Party urged the Conservative government to abandon its economic strategy, offering its own plan for a multibillion-dollar boost to the economy. A Labour spokesman said the $16.5 billion package would create 500,000 new jobs in a year. Unemployment is now more than 3 million.
