US delegation will monitor elections in El Salvador

Sen. Nancy L. Kasssebaum (R) of Kansas, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will head a high-level US delegation to monitor elections in El Salvador March 28, the State Department announced. Included in the delegation will be Rep. Robert Livingston (R) of Louisiana; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Everett Briggs; the Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, president of Notre Dame University; Clark Kerr, president emeritus of the University of California at Berkeley; and elections specialists Richard Scammon and Howard Penniman.
