Bush answers AFL-CIO on its economic plan

February 17, 1982

Vice-President George Bush brought to AFL-CIO's Executive Council in Bal Harbour, Fla., the Reagan administration's reply to the federation's alternatives for an economic program, saying the federation's proposals would mean ''more taxes for people who don't want more taxes.''

Mr. Bush angered members of the council when he repeated the past charge made by the Reagan administration that labor leaders are out of touch with their rank-and-file members.
