Prime Minister Menachem Begin, arguing that money spent is better than blood spilled, won narrow Cabinet approval Thursday for a $260 million compensation package for settlers abandoning homes, farms, and businesses in the Sinai Desert.

Withdrawl of Jewish settlements from the Sinai in April is part of the Camp David agreement.
