Moisture that enters double-glazed window

December 24, 1981

Q. Since buying our new home, we have noted moisture between the wood-framed, duo-pane glass of a window - steam in warm weather and frost in winter. What can be done about it? Sumner Poppen Wyoming, Ill.

A. If the window were factory-glazed, the only way I know to eliminate the moisture is to replace it with a new one from the factory. Somehow, the existing window has broken its semi-vacuum seal.

If the window is within its warranty period, get in touch with the builder or window contractor and tell him of the condition. Ask for a field inspection and for satisfaction under the guarantee.
