It's lighter than you think

The dark is light enough, said the poet, and so it is for all those most important perceptions that do not depend upon the eye. But there's nothing wrong with a little light, as our Northern Hemisphere can't help noticing during this particular week in December.

The winter solstice always brings the longest night of the year before we quite expect it. But then we know as sure as sunshine that the days will start lengthening. It's time for a certain optimism no matter how black the hour when the alarm clock rings.
