Police break up meeting at Polish dissident's home

Polish police Sunday raided the home of Jacek Kuron, Polands maindissident leader, breaking up a meeting of political and Solidarity activists who had gathered to found a new opposition organization, the government news agency reported.

The PAP news agency report said the several dozen participants were meeting to found a political party which openly opposes Poland's communist system.

PAP said police checked the indentities of several dozen people after descending on Mr. Kuron's home but did not report any immediate arrests.
