The little back that could

November 19, 1981

When 5 ft. 7 in. Joe Morris arrived at Syracuse four years ago, people wondered what chance the compact little runner stood against major college defenses. He's been busy showing them ever since, and now is the school's all-time rushing leader. With the 20th 100-yard game of his career last Saturday, the 190-pound Ayer, Mass. product eclipsed all the great Syracuse runners before him, including Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little, and Larry Csonka. The Syracuse co-captain has gained 4,13l yards, a testament to his tremendous desire.
