Karpov leads as chess battle goes to 6th game

World chess champion Anatoly Karpov forced a draw against challenger Victor Korchnoi in the fifth game fo their world championship battle here Tuesday to keep a three-game lead in the series.

The Soviet champion has now won three games and drawn two. The match goes to the first player to win six games. Draws do not count. The sixth game starts on Thursday.
