Mrs. Bani-Sadr rejoins her husband in Paris

August 24, 1981

Deposed Iranian President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr's wife and 8-year-old son arrive in here Saturday on a flight from Peking, via Pakistan, and were reunited with Mr. Bani-Sadr in exile after France granted them asylum. Mrs. Bani-Sadr and the boy had no visas upon arrival and were detained for an hour before given permission to stay in the country.

She refused to say how she and her son fled from Iran, but French officials said they apparently boarded the Air France plane during a stopover in Karachi. She was held briefly and questioned in Tehran in June.
