Soviet weapons reported captured in The Gambia

Senegalese troops sent in to crush a leftist coup in The Gambia captured Soviet-made weapons from the insurgents in the tiny West African nation, Senegalese authorities report.

Meanwhile, Sir Dawda Jawara, President of The Gambia, has appealed for international medical aid in the wake of the att empted coup in which 300 people were reported killed.
