Senate approves tax cut as OK'd by conferees

The Senate, rejecting a proposal to strip President Reagan's tax cut bill of biggest tax cut in US history. The vote to approve the $750 billion tax cut bill, worked out by House and Senate conferees in a marathon weekend session, was 67 to 8.

The house is expected to give final congressional approval to the compromise bill today (Aug. 4 ) and send it to Mr. Reagan for his signature.
