It's hard not to be struck by Taiwan's determination to stay in the game despite being diplomatically sidelined. After reaching an accommodation to permit participation in the Olympics, Taiwan's athletes have scored again. Their basketball association has reached an agreement for reaffiliation with the Federation of International Basketball Association. Why not? Shouldn't politics stop at least at the free-thro w line?
