US easing trade rules on high-tech for China

The Reagan adminstration said it was easing restrictions on US exports of high-technology products to China, including those with both civilian and nonlethal military capabilities. The new policy, followed a visit to Peking in June by Secretary of State Alexander M. Haig Jr., and was announced by the deputy assistant commerce secretary, Bo Denysyk, in a speech to the National Council for US-China Trade.

Mr. Denysyk said the administration was also eliminating some complex review procedures, which could reduce export license proce ssing time.
