Hiring of top-level executives picks up

July 1, 1981

Hiring of senior executives earning more than $100,000 a year rose 26 percent during the second quarter of 1981 over the same quarter in 1980, but middle-management recruiting dropped 6 percent, according to Korn/Ferry International, an executive search firm.

At the same time inflation in executive salaries declined from 11 percent in 1980 to 6 percent, the company reported.
