More loans for mobile homes

June 25, 1981

According to a survey by the Manufactured Housing Institute, mobile/manufactured home loan commitments increased by nearly 20 percent last year. The report attributes the increase to the industry's home-loan interest rates, which moved closer to parity with the mortgage rates of conventional housing.

The survey indicates that finance companies increased their 1980 mobile/manufactured home-loan business by 33 per cent over the previous year.
