June 11, 1981

Prime Minister-designate Arnaldo Forlani told President Sandro Pertini he had given up his attempt to form a new government. Mr. Forlani accepted the President's bid to try to form a government two weeks ago. The President's office announced that Mr. Pertini had called Republican Party leader Giovanni Spadolini to his office for a meeting today (June 11).
