Traveler

All spring I've been whipped inside by the wind packed down in this chair by the wood stove Boxed-in and in touch with all flat surfaces; So I take root, my elbows table-hard

Yet, I'm beginning a journey listening for water boiling, a sissing stream Above the knock of Levi-zippers in the dryer drum. My cat pads her way across the roof. A Swiss clock keeps one wall alive. For me animate moments enacted outside a chosen inanimation Much like the three apple boughs snipped from the tree and standing now in water, on the window sill; they too begin a blossoming in the still warm air of this kitchen. Waiting to meet the weath er in a new ground.
