Tentative pact reached at New York newspapers

A tentative contract agreement was reached Thursday between the Newspaper Guild and the New York Times and the Daily News hours after 1,900 editorial, advertising, and business e mployees struck the Times. The tentative settlement is subject to a full rank-and-file vote early next week.
