Nationwide elections, being held almost in tandem in Vietnam and Cambodia, are being hailed by the two countries as a show of massive support for those already in power.

In the results made public Wednesday, the vietnam News Agency said voters returned to power Communist Party Secretary-General Le Duan, National Assembly chairman Truong Chinh, and Premier Pham Van dong. The general election in Cambodia is scheduled for May 1.

Meanwhile in Peking, Prince norodom Sihanouk, the former Cambodian leader, announced he was joining a United Front of groups resisting the two-year-old Vietnamese intervention in his homeland.
