Rain

April 27, 1981

Rain: the stillness The distant pines: a procession of monks in silince And each bead that forms and breaks at the needle-point: an urgent message of time-contained relevancies, setting in motion the chemistry of color and change Rain: the continuing stillness The forest floor: it has maintained its consummate configuration Ten years ago, as now the gazelles of my imagination leapt and pranced in the air The rain has seeped through to the ear th's core, feeding the roots And I am alive
