British train robber freed in Barbados

The Barbados High Court quashed an extradition order against Ronald Biggs, the British 'great train robber' and jail-breaker, and set him free. the verdict came on appeal of an extradition order granted two weeks ago at Britain's request.

Biggs was taken into custody here March 23 after he was discovered aboard a chartered yacht. He claimed he had been abducted from BRazil, where he had been living for 11 years since his escape from London's Wandsworth Jail.
