A majority of the world's largest corporations are no longer American-based firms, but foreign multinationals, according to a recent report by The Conference Board.
While the US accounted for 58 of the world's 100 largest industrial corporations in 1971, by 1979 only 47 of these top 100 were Ame rican corporations.
