AT&T chairman asks US to halt antitrust suit

The chairman of American Telephone & Telegraph Company called on the Reagan administration to withdraw the government's longstanding antitrust suit against the company. Chairman Charles Brown told an annual meeting of shareholders here that most of the controveries that gave rise to the litigation have long since been resolved by regulatory commissions and the courts. The suit, filed in 1974 , seeks to break up AT &T into several independent companies.
