63 regulations left over from Carter are waylaid

The Reagan administration has withdrawn, indefinitely postponed, or ordered reviews of 63 federal regulations, ranging from guidelines for enenergy audits to mandates for deboned meat. Vice-President George Bush, who heads a presidential regulatory relief task force, said the administration is trying to achieve economic relief by eliminating unnecessary and burdensome regulations.

Most of the 63 regulations were issued in the closing weeks of the Carter administration and were temporarily frozen by President Reagan shortly after taking office. That freeze, which expires next Monday invol ved 172 regulations.
