Chicago mayor, husband to taste tenement living

Mayor Jane M. Byrne announced that she and her political adviser husband, Jay McMullen, will move into the Cabrini-Green housing project to experience firsthand problems of living in a high-rise tenament. In a statement, Mr. McMullen said the couple will take "an apartment at Cabrini-Green to find out the problems of why a high rise 10 blocks away from where we live now should be so different." Mrs. Byrne and her husband live in the heart of the city's Gold Coast along a luxurious stretch of Michigan Avenue known as the Magnificent Mile.
