Argentine Nobel winner sees new sag in 'rights'

Nobel Peace Prize-winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel said Argentina's human rights situation has deteriorated because of an unexpected wave of repression in the last three weeks. "Instead of improving, the human rights situation in Argentina is suffering a setback," he told a press conference here. Mr. Perez Esquivel cited the arrest of six human rights campaigners last month and the brief detention on March 13 of 68 relatives of missing people.

Meanwhile in Washington, Argentina's President-designate, Roberto Viola, had talks with members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and met with President Reagan later for discussions expected to focus on improving US Argentine relations.
