March 6, 1981

Nicaragua's five-man ruling junta, accused by the Reagan administration of arming Salvadoran guerrillas, dropped two of its members in a sudden shakeup that conservative opponents say consolidates power in the hands of leftist Sandinistas. At a news conference, the junta announced that Sandinista junta member Daniel Ortega had been named "coordinator" of the new three-man ruling body and that two other members wer e to be reassigned to other high level government posts.
