Jean Harris, a private school head-mistress, faces at least 15 years in jail after a weary jury of eight women and four men found her guilty of murdering her former lover, Herman Tarnower, a Scarsdale diet doctor. After eight days of deliberations, the jury found Mrs. Harris guilty of second-degree murder, the most serious charge against her in the 14-wee k-long trial.
