Inside Report (1)

February 6, 1981

Remember John B. Anderson? Last year's alternative to Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, says he may run for the Oval Office again in 1984 -- this time as the candidate of a third political party.

Anderson's decision, which may come as early as this October, will be based on the success -- or lack thereof -- of the Reagan administration. If he does run, he says he will call a national convention to organize a third party. Participants would be culled from a list of more than 200,000 contributors to his 1980 campaign.

Reportedly still $620,000 in debt from that campaign. Anderson is on the lecture circuit and is scheduled to teach seminars at the University of Illinois Law School and Stanford University .m
