King honored across US; Buffalo 'anti' rally fizzles

A rally and march here highlighted observances across the nation commemorating the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the slain civil rights leader. It was the finale of a five-day hometown observance saluting the Nobel Peace Prize winner, who was assassinated nearly 13 years ago. Other events included a Washington rally and a Harlem church service.

Meanwhile in Buffalo, N.Y., only one Nazi showed up to take part in a "white-rights rally" in the same square where 400 demonstrators marched to commemorate Dr. King. Police, who had feared potential violence, expressed relief when the Nazi ra lly fizzled.
