Ethics director asked to stay on

President-elect Ronald Reagan has asked J. Jackson Walter, a Carter appointee , to remain in his position as director of the Government Ethics Department. Mr. Walter is the first person appointed by President Carter who has been asked to continue in his position under the Reagan administration, transition team spokesman James Brady said. The Government Ethics Department, within the Office of Personnel Management, directs policies related to preventing conflicts of interest among government workers.
