Former Argentine President Maria Estela Peron has taken a first step toward freedom, now that the military junta has passed her case to the Justice Department. An official announcement said Mrs. Peron, detained since the overthrow of her government in March 1976, would remain under house arrest, pending a decision on four charges outstanding against her. The charges include embezzlement of government funds and property.
