A Kuwaiti newspaper said Jordan put its armed forces on alert and sent a division to the border with Syria after a massing of Syria troops in the area. Al-Qabas, quoting Jordanian sources, linked the move to the Syrian-led boycott of the Arab summit in Amman, but did not say when the Syria troops began massing.
