The Proprietor, Man

November 24, 1980

Take care, he says, the proprietor, The man, to me, gently, Take care. See you, we used to call in northeastern Mass, Before supper, in the cooling Dark street, my friend and I, And always did, Saturday afternoons, the summer nights. Y'all come back and see us now, hear. (But it is good to see any good and living man return) Heard and would, Would see you, friend, Would find you If I could. Take care.
