Waldheim names Palme as emissary to Iraq, Iran

At the request of the Security Council, UN Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim is sending former Prime Minister of Sweden Olaf Palme as his special emissary to Baghdad and Tehran to try to facilitate negotiations between Iraq and Iran. analysts here, reports Monitor UN correspondent Louis Wiznitzer, consider his chances of success are slim.
