Libya has denied reports of a military rebellion in the country and declaration of a state of emergency as "totally false." Sources in Paris had reported a rebellion breaking out Aug. 8 in the Tobruk area of Cyrenaica Province, with "hundreds of casualties," as Libyan troops, assisted by East German military advisers, attempted to crush it.
