Journalism group honors Monitor

August 12, 1980

An award for "distinguished service in international journalism" has been given The Christian Science Monitor by the international communication division of the Association for Education in Journalism.

The first annual award was presented at the group's annual convention in Boston Aug. 11. The Monitor was cited for stressing the "significant, the serious, and the lasting aspects" of world news as well as seeking "solutins to the problems related to those developments."

The association is a national group made up of journalism teachers, administrators, and journalists.
