Italian premier cleared in guerrilla-arrest case

Italy's Parliament voted to drop inquiries Sunday against Prime Minister Francesco Cossiga over an allegation that he helped an urban guerrilla suspect evade arrest. In a combined sitting of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, an opposition demand for further investigation was rejected, 507 to 416.
