China asks for pullout by US from South Korea

On the 30th anniversary of the start of the Korean war, China called Wednesday for withdrawal of American troops from South Korea and said the permanent division of Korea is not acceptable.

"The United States must withdraw its troops and all its arms and equipment from South Korea and stop its interference in the country," the People's Daily, official paper of the Chinese Communist Party, said.
