Score of Jamaicans held in alleged military coup

Jamaican security forces arrested and opposition politician and about 20 soldiers in connection with an alleged plot to stage a military coup, which included seizing the Defense Force armory in Kingston; killing the Army chief of staff, Brig. Robert Neish; and forcing the prime minister to resign, government sources said Monday. Charles Johnson, leader of the small Jamaica United Front Party, and the soldiers were arrested Sunday night.
