June 9, 1980

In a Monitor article May 23 about the possibility of Edward M. Kennedy's leaving his Senate post at the end of 1982 to run for president in 1984, it was inaccurately stated that Mr. Kennedy's Senate term expires at the end of 1981. It was also stated that Joseph P. Kennedy III might run for the Senate in 1982, should his uncle retire. But Joseph Kennedy will be too young to qualify for the Senate at that time; the article should have said that he was a possible candidate for the US House of Representatives in 1982.
