May 12, 1980

Leaders of six political groups in Belgium have reached agreement on forming a government after a monthlong crisis, Premier Wilfried Martens said. Negotiations ended Sunday with accord on outstanding issues by the French and Dutch-language wings of the Liberals, Socialists, and Social Christians. Mr. Martens, a Dutch- speaking Social Christian, is expected to be asked by King Baudouin to form a government after party congresses discuss the package this week.
