Antidumping levy ordered on US fibers in Europe

May 6, 1980

The European Community's Executive Commission announced Monday it was imposing antidumping duties up to 17.6 percent of some imports of acrylic fibers from the United States. The measure was aimed at one of the biggest US exporters, American Cyanamid, which refused to disclose its production costs in response to allegations that it was selling similar products in the US below cost.
