Utilizing shoeboxes

Making use of materials at hand can lead to a very useful and efficient multistorage unit for the closet and give you good marks for conservation and creativity.

The idea is to make a shoe cabinet out of shoe boxes. Just cut out one end of the shoe box, put the top back on, and cover the opening with clear plastic wrap. Then pile the boxes in rows either vertically or horizontally, or in any arrangement to fit a convenient space.

You will be able to see which shoes are where, and the box provides protection no matter how long they're stored. You won't need paper labels or any special marking for the box.

Decorate the boxes with patterned adhesive backed paper either individually or as a multibox unit. When the shoes are discarded, just replace with the new pair in the existing box, or add a new box, shoes and all.
