Heffy profit boost posted by British arm of Exxon

Esso Petroleum, a British subsidiary of the US Exxon Corporation, Tuesday announced 1979 pretax profits that were nearly 12 times those for 1978. Esso said pretax 1979 profits were $1.1 billion, compared with $95 million in 1978.
