Spanish general visits US; jet fighter decision seen

Gen. David C. Jones, USAF, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, met his Spanish counterpart, Lt. Gen. Ignacio Alfaro, at the Pentagon Monday at the start of a six-day visit to the United States by General Alfaro. Defense sources believe his visit may relate to an anticipated Spanish decision to buy the General Dynamics F-16 for Spain's Air Force, Monitor correspondent John K. Cooley reports
