Cyclone in Fijis leaves 5,000 hungry, homeless

April 7, 1980

Flooding caused by Cyclone Wally, which battered the Fiji Islands last week, left about 5,000 people here without food and shelter. Emergency food supplies will be needed for at least six months, according to officials. The death toll, put at 13, may rise after contacts are made with areas cut off by flooding.
