Prosecutor expands probe of Jordan drug-use charge

Special prosecutor Arthur Christy has expanded his investigation into charges White House chief of staff Hamilton Jordan sniffed cocaine to a probe of whether Mr. Jordan used the drug at a California party in 1977, it was learned Tuesday. Mr. Christy, who was appointed on the recommendation of Attorney General Benjamin Civiletti last Nov. 29, originally was asked to investigate allegations Mr. Jordan used cocaine at New York's chic Studio 54 disco during a 1978 visit.
